Senior System Engineer

About the CompanyDavidson Technology are currently working with a reputable MSP who have offices based in Canberra and Brisbane. We are seeking to appoint a Senior System engineer to join on a permanent basis. This role is based in Canberra and offers the ability to work from home a few days a week.

About the RoleYou will play a pivotal role in the Engineering Team, providing advanced level 3 technical support. This role focuses on resolving complex ICT service issues and upholding our commitment to deliver remote monitoring and reporting for our managed services clients. You will be expected to deliver insightful and clear reporting, drive efficiencies, and streamline processes via automation for both Internal and clients as well as manage specialised service request that are integral to billable project Key responsibilities include: Act as the primary contact for Level 3 incidents through the Service Desk.

Manage and configure the monitoring systems to ensure comprehensive oversight of client systems. Maintain effective reporting for detailed visibility of managed systems to external clients. Develop automation solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs associated with manual operations.

Perform regular system audits to ensure alignment with best practice standards. Assist in project scoping and reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs) as needed.

Provide regular updates to the General Manager, Technical Services Manager, and Service Manager. Document all systems, processes, and procedures specific to the role

About YouTo be successful for this role, you will be able to demonstrate: Extensive experience as a Senior System Engineer Proficiency in Microsoft server technologies (AD, SQL, Exchange, CA). Solid understanding of ITIL service delivery methodologies Experience in Azure solutions, including Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD, and SharePoint. Expertise in virtualization technologies (VMWare, AHV, Hyper-V, KVM).

Management of Windows Server (2012 to 2022). Familiarity with monitoring systems (RMM & PRTG). Advanced networking knowledge (CCNA, Sophos, WatchGuard, Aruba, Fortinet).

Solid understanding of ITIL service delivery methodologies. Experience with ConnectWise Manage and Automate, Veeam, BrightGauge, and/or Power BI. Networking fundamentals knowledge, CCNA, Sophos, WatchGuard, Aruba & Fortinet, highly regarded

In addition to the above, MSP experience is desirable, not essential.
