Your new role
As a Senior System Safety Engineer, you will:
- Perform system safety program tasks according to approved system safety program plans.
- Perform hazard analysis tasks guided covering both physical and functional hazards.
- Perform design evaluation, engineering change and System Problem Report safety analyses.
- Prepare and maintain system hazard logs.
- Produce safety assessment reports / safety case reports.
- Plan and lead system safety working groups and workshops.
- Report system safety issues to stakeholders.
- Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety and duty of care and the quality management system.
- Support the Systems Safety Engineering in day-to-day team management activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or related discipline.
- Experienced in Safety Engineering of complex systems.
- Experienced in leading Safety Engineering activities across the system engineering lifecycle.
- Experienced in working with multi-discipline teams, customers and stakeholders.
- Experience in contemporary Safety Engineering processes, standards and best practice, for example MIL-STD-882 or IEC 61508.
- Experience in preparing Safety Engineering artefacts to US DoD or ASDEFCON Data Item Descriptions [desirable]
