Overview of the role
Join our thriving team and embark on an enriching career journey as a Senior Tax Accountant. Based in, Adelaide or Hobart, the Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for all tax deliverables, statutory tax obligations and arrangements across the Australian region while providing resources for all Australian tax matters to both Nyrstar and Trafigura.
Experience and skills you bring
With 5 years' experience in tax accounting with a preference in in public accounting or corporate tax, you are the ideal candidate for the role of Senior Tax Accountant. Your understanding of annual income tax returns including transfer pricing and country by country reporting, in addition with Fringe Benefit Tax returns, lodgements and leading ATO tax reviews is highly desirable.
Major responsibilities and duties of role
- Goods and Services Tax (GST) monthly lodgements
- Monthly tax calculation and models including consolidated tax lodgements
- Payment time reporting
- Delivering site monthly financial performance reports
- Developing tax strategies
- Reviewing financial statements for accuracy and identifying any issues that may require additional investigation
- Analysing financial data and providing recommendations based on the data
Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Master's degree in accounting or business administration with a concentration in accounting
- CPA
- 5 years' experience in a tax accounting with a preference public accounting or corporate tax
