We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Senior Tax Advisor within the Taxation team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role reporting to the Tax Manager for income tax.
About the role
The tax team engages with all areas of the Coles business. This is an exciting opportunity to work with internal and external stakeholders across tax and the broader Coles business. Your role will include:
- Preparation of income tax returns
- Preparation of year end and half year accounts
- Research, analysis and preparation of tax advice
- Preparing responses to revenue authority requests for information
- Contract review and advice
- Engagement with numerous stakeholders including business categories and group functions
- Engagement and management of external advisers
- Engagement with revenue authorities
- Execution of the Coles group governance procedures
- Lead change on automation and improvement processes
About you and your skills
We are looking for a Senior Tax Advisor ideally with experience working in a chartered accounting firm, in-house or the ATO. You will be able to partner effectively with multiple stakeholders and be a trusted advisor in your space. You will have the following skills & experience:
- CA/CPA qualified/Masters of Tax
- Strong tax effect accounting skills
- Strong income tax return skills
- Strong income tax technical skills including reading the law, extrinsic materials, interpretation, analysis and critical thinking
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written – including preparation of position papers and advice
- Proficient system skills – Excel, Word and Powerpoint
