Senior Tax Advisor

Exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Advisor to join the Finance team of a well-regarded ASX listed Group

The organisation
Our client is a leading retail and distribution business operating in Australia and New Zealand. They are an ASX listed Group, have over 700 stores and 35 online platforms. They have excellent corporate environment and culture, promoting reward based on merit and performance.
The role
Located in Melbourne, this is a permanent full-time position sitting in a high performing Finance team. Reporting to the Head of Group Accounting, the Senior Tax Advisor will be responsible for managing the Group’s tax affairs.
Key duties & responsibilities:

• Overseeing Tax compliance and providing Tax advisory services to the wider business
• Lodgement of annual corporate income tax returns
• Reviewing tax return, GST, FBT, and transfer pricing calculations
• Monitoring tax audits and communications with the ATO, IRD, State Revenue Offices
• Overseeing reconciliations and maintenance of tax balances on GL
• Assisting with half year/full year tax effect accounting, audit and tax requirements
• Improving tax compliance and accounting processes

Skills & Experience required

• CPA/CA qualified and relevant tertiary degree
• Previous experience in a big 4/mid-tier taxation or business services area
• Excellent time management and taste for working in a fast-paced environment
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Strong Excel skills
