AddressDue to significant growth we have a newly created role for a Senior Tax Advisor to join our team in Brisbane.
Reporting to the APAC Tax Director you will provide and assist in a range of tax services in Australia and the wider APAC region, including direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, tax governance and risk management and provision of tax advice to operating units.
You will be part of the Tetra Tech global tax team and will work closely with the other Tetra Tech companies to ensure tax compliance deadlines are met across the APAC region. This role is based at the RPS (A Tetra Tech company) office based in Fortitude valley with full flexibility to work a mix of office and home.
Your Impact
- Preparation/Review of annual tax returns using a combination of internal resources and external service providers. This can be country specific or the Australian Tax Consolidated Group.
- Preparation of withholding taxes and FBT returns. Review and sometimes prepare BAS returns as required.
- Preparation of the tax reporting in the region for both Group Finance and local finance teams.
- Oversee /prepare Tax Consolidated Group PAYGI Lodgements.
- Set up of Tax compliance requirements on projects that are awarded.
- Local file A, B and assist the APAC Tax Director with local transfer pricing documentation.
- Support and implement Global tax initiatives where appropriate.
- Maintain and develop excellent tax technical knowledge and serve as subject matter expert on Australian tax issues.
- Assist the APAC Tax Director with Regional & ATO Tax Reviews or audits.
- Assist the APAC Tax Director on APAC projects
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a professional qualification with 5+ years corporate tax experience in a multi-national environment. You will also have the below:
- Proven track record of success operating at a similar level within a global reputable company or large accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and exposure to international tax rules
- Good understanding of and experience with tax accounting for a global organisation
- Excellent project management skills and an ability to apply a pragmatic and efficient approach to handling complex assignments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments
- Excellent people skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
