Senior Taxation Officer

Our Temporary Division are currently recruiting for a Senior Taxation Officer to start ASAP for 4 months with possible extension. 

The Role:

• Looking for someone with tax experience who should be able to pick up the completion of the BAS and FBT reporting relatively quickly.
• Gathers, collates and analyses data in calculating Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) liability and Goods Services Tax (GST) and prepares the GST Business Activity Statement, FBT return and other central agency requests or tax returns. 
• Interprets taxation legislation, rulings, accounting standards and other policies to assess the impact on processes and procedures.
• Analyses reports from the salary packaging provider and reconciles reimbursements of input tax credits (ITC) to employees. Arranges the recoup of salary packaging related input tax credits from the Tax Office.
• Reconciliation and completion of reportable fringe benefits for inclusion in employee payment summaries.
• Perform journals and account reconciliation for all Tax related accounts.

Essential Criteria:

• Ability to apply for background screening / National Police Clearance
• Experience in a taxation and financial management environment
• Knowledge of financial and taxation legislation impacting on state public sector agencies
• Well-developed research, conceptual and analytical skills
• Valid working visa or permanent residency status 

Desirable:

• State Government experience
