About the role
The Office of Teaching & Research Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated individual with a degree in Chemistry or a related discipline, to join one of our Technical Support teams. The Senior Technical Support Officer will provide analytical services for the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment’s research projects. Duties include preparation and analysis of soil, plant and other biological samples using a range of analytical techniques and instrumentation, training and assisting staff and postgraduate students in the operation of analytical instrumentation and method development, instrument maintenance and calibration, trouble shooting and liaising with relevant suppliers for equipment service when required. The incumbent is expected to perform their work with minimal supervision, and to liaise with other technical and academic staff to achieve high quality outcomes.

Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at the Hawkesbury campus, however as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise. Hours of work for employees in Teaching & Research Technical Services may vary due to operational requirements in supporting teaching classes or research projects.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $107,358 to $115,073 p.a. (comprising Salary of $90,719 to $97,238 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
