Our client, a tier one in the mining and new energy operator, is looking for the next Senior Test Engineer. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our prototypes & products. You'll design novel test strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in our testing processes. A key part of your role will be organisation and execution of physical testing in various environments, including specialised external vendors, test rigs, HiL & mine sites. In conjunction with physical testing, you will be logging data, working with the data team to develop post-processing methods, and reporting on test execution results.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create detailed test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios based on system specifications, user requirements, and industry standards.
- Develop new testing methodologies, processes and frameworks for novel components, systems and products.
- Identification and management of external vendors for highly specialised testing of electrical components and systems.
- Execute test cases to verify the functionality, reliability, and performance of electric vehicle charging systems, including hardware and software components.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Execute Design Validation Plan & Reporting (DVP&R) for electric vehicle systems
- Identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform regression testing to verify that previously identified issues have been resolved and do not introduce new defects.
- Conduct performance testing to assess the charging system's capacity, scalability, and response times under various conditions.
- Provide technical support for FAT & SAT process and work with internal and external stakeholders to help integrate products into operational environments.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed test reports and documentation, summarizing test results, defects, and any recommended improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and define comprehensive test plans for high powered charging systems.
- Collaborate with site personnel to develop site-specific procedures for product testing in operational environments

- Proven track record bringing multiple products through a development process that previously had no defined test method.
- Ability to develop structured test methods & plans from scratch.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with new technologies.
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing scopes, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of data acquisition systems, including sensors, data loggers, and signal processing techniques.
- Proficiency in gathering and analysing data from physical tests using specialized instrumentation and equipment.
- Proficiency in test automation
- Experience of data quality control measures and data validation techniques.
- Familiarity with electric vehicle charging systems and related protocols
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing is a plus.
- Strong understanding of data acquisition systems, including sensors, data loggers, and signal processing techniques.
- Capable of troubleshooting and resolving issues related to instrumentation and testing processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
