Job description

To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?
Here you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and bars and restaurants offering incredible local produce. Life is in flow here. After a hard day at work, you don't sit in traffic for an hour. You decompress with an easy coastal drive, or you put on your boots and tell it to the mountain.
If you need any more convincing about our beautiful part of the world, here it is
The role:
The Senior Therapist (Seating) will provide leadership and specialist clinical advice in seating. The position will:

  • Provide a high standard of clinical care to patients / participants of the Seating Clinic, in accordance with clinical standards and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide consultation in the area of clinical specialty, and build capacity by supporting a positive learning culture, sharing knowledge with staff, and participating in research.
Initiate and lead quality and service improvement within the Seating Clinic to ensure that high standards of care are provided.
Your neurological rehabilitation skills in both adult and paediatric populations are strong. So too is your passion for forming lasting therapeutic relationships with the people whose lives you impact. And this could see you work anywhere. What's different about Tasmania though is our culture and our lifestyle. You will be encouraged to be yourself, to share your knowledge, and to gain real meaning from your work. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.
This role is unique. And important. You will be in charge of providing and maintaining the customised seating and mobility adaptive technology for a wonderful group of clients with complex neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. You will work with high-end technology, alongside an experienced technician, as a key part of our wider Orthotic & Prosthetic Services team of 20.
You will also be connected with your professional group within the Royal Hobart Hospital as well as membership to the wider Assistive Technologies community in Australia, learning from and contributing to our diverse and specialised skillsets.
From a variety of backgrounds, we've come together to make impact through our work in this beautiful part of the world. Tasmanians are connected to the land where we live, and to the stories of the people who have cared for this place for tens of thousands of years. And you're invited to be part of it.
