Our mission is to help more people to hear.The OpportunityCochlear has an opportunity for a full time Senior Software Tools & Infrastructure Engineer based in our Macquarie, Sydney office. In this role, the successful incumbent will be responsible for continuously improving the standards, practices, and culture of DevOps for the delivery of Agile embedded software projects.Responsibilities include:
- Identify and action automation opportunities across existing infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and platforms to continuously improve system performance.
- Collaborate with Cochlear embedded software stakeholders (IT, global Embedded Software teams, Acoustics) and GN Hearing to ensure alignment on solutions.
- Manage small to medium DevOps work packages to deliver effective and reliable tools and infrastructure to support and enable the rapid, efficient delivery of high-quality embedded software projects.
- Be proactive in building existing relationships as well as developing new contacts and relationships across teams in Cochlear and GN Hearing to ensure that shared solutions and systems meet the needs of all stakeholders.
- Establish a DevOps roadmap to deliver new improvements and communicate it regularly to the stakeholders.
- Continually monitor system health to report and rectify problems quickly so that infrastructure downtime is minimised.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and technical documentation skills
- Experience developing in Python, C#, or a similar Object-Oriented language.
- Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles and practices, such as CI/CD methods, test and process automation, package and configuration management or software maintenance.
- Skilled in cross-functional thinking and problem solving.
- University degree in Computer Science or similar
- Experience at all stages of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of embedded software fundamentals
