In this role, you'll:
Working as part of the Network Maintenance Track Engineering team, this role will see you provide high level engineering and technical advice ensuring the technical integrity of track assets, and compliance to engineering standards associated with the Track discipline.
With responsibility for such a varied network within the region, the challenges are wide and varied and include having exposure to a high volume metropolitan rail network, rail management within 30T axle routes, and experience with environmentally sensitive areas.
You will be driving a role that is critical to the safety and reliability of train services to both passenger and freight services within NSW.
Whilst you will predominantly be based at Hornsby NSW, you will be expected to travel within the region (North Strathfield to Newcastle. Waverton to Hornsby) for work related requirements.

About you
You are Tertiary qualified (degree) in Engineering, preferably mechanical or civil, or have equivalent substantial experience with proven managerial and analytical skills.
You have a sound understanding of track engineering principals with experience in Rail Track asset management, maintenance, construction works in an operational environment.
You have demonstrated research, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply them in a multidisciplinary environment. You also have a high level of understanding of maintenance engineering principles and their application to maintenance and operations, including an understanding of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
Your excellent verbal and written communications skills will enable you to successfully collaborate with the Maintenance Operations Managers and their team to provide SME track maintenance and engineering advice.
