About the Business
Our Community and Aboriginal Partnerships Division helps to build community safety and wellbeing by providing support and services to children, young people and families, including those in the youth justice system, remote Aboriginal communities and people with complex and exceptional needs.

Role Details
The Senior Training and Development Coordinator is a role within Youth Justice and is accountable to the Training, Compliance and Welfare Manager for:

  • Designing, facilitating, and evaluating training programs and development initiatives for new recruits and internal staff to promote the continuous learning, development, and upskilling of staff within Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining new and existing training programs to ensure accuracy, relativity and compliance with legislative and operational standards and requirements.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of initiatives that support the attraction, development and retention of staff across the Youth Justice and Exceptional Needs Directorate.
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment processes, including leading assessment centres, for all roles within the Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre to support compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality training programs and material to achieve business outcomes.

Special Conditions
National Police Check required.
Employment-related Screening Check required.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.

This position is located at Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre.
