To join this team we are seeking a highly motivated Senior Urban Planner. This is a career-defining opportunity to develop your expertise within a team of well recognised industry leaders and elevate your profile within the Urban Planning and the Development Industry.
The Role:
As a Senior Urban Planner in this team, you will begin with mentorship from leading Associate Planner, celebrated for their technical acumen and exceptional client-side project management. This initial mentorship period will prepare you for an accelerated career trajectory, positioning you to step into an Associate role. You will then work closely with the Executive Director of Planning, leading a small team and managing high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with an established group of clients to understand their Urban planning needs and use your expertise to deliver tailored solutions.
- Develop and implement comprehensive urban planning strategies to obtain successful development outcomes through innovative best practice.
- Manage and mentor a small team of planners, fostering their professional development & growth.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, and community groups.
- Conduct detailed site analysis, feasibility studies, and prepare planning reports.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

About You:
- Tertiary level qualification in Urban/Town Planning or similar tertiary degree.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Statutory Planning & Development Assessment.
- Advanced knowledge of the Planning Act 2016 and related legislation.
- Current Queensland Driver's Licence.
- Current Planning Institue of Australia (PIA) Membership
- Proven experience in Urban Planning, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
- Excellent technical knowledge and project management skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing junior planners.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and innovative approach to urban planning challenges.
