This is an exciting opportunity to join our Digital Design team as a Senior UX Design Lead, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of product and service experiences for students and staff at the university. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-friendly digital experiences, engaging in a wide range of products and digital components across the design process from research and ideation to prototyping and testing.
Moreover, this role offers the chance to lead and manage complex UX projects. You'll leverage your UX expertise and leadership skills to ensure that design objectives are met on time and within scope, making a significant impact on students' digital studying and learning experience!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Conduct and oversee user research activities, including interviews and surveys
- Create and review prototypes using industry-standard design tools to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively
- Plan and execute user testing sessions to validate design decisions, iterate on designs, and ensure user satisfaction
We're looking for a professional with strong communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating and explaining design decisions in an easily understandable way to stakeholders. You should be adaptable to changing priorities and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships is also essential to this role.
You will also have:
- Strong proficiently in industry-standard design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
- Direct experience creating and maintaining UX/UI product design systems in Figma or XD
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering full lifecycle UX projects in complex environments
- Expert understanding of Humna-Centred Design and Design Thinking methodologies and tools
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
- Ability to lead multi/trans-disciplinary teams in Agile environments, bonus if that includes experience with Lean and other process improvement methodologies
This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
