This is an incredible opportunity to work with an Australian games studio with international support, creating world-class gameplay and experience on highly creative original IP. As a Senior VFX Artist, you will play a pivotal role in making visually stunning effects for our client's yet-to-be-released PC titles. Working closely with the Art Director and game development team, you will conceptualise, design, and implement a wide range of dynamic visual effects to enhance gameplay and immersion. This role would suit a games VFX specialist with a more creative, stylised approach, rather than a more technical focus.
This full-time position requires a deep understanding of VFX techniques, proficiency and experience in Niagara and Unreal Engine and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment. We're looking for a great reel featuring published FX.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the Art Director in creating the overall VFX vision.
- Producing composites to showcase ideas and concepts.
- Creating and modifying assets to assist the process of rapid prototypes of experimental features.
- Designing and creating high quality effects to support the game design and communicate game state and events.
- Designing and creating visual effects for cinematics to enhance storytelling and create immersive experiences.
- Lighting and rendering effect elements.
- Working with the development team to correctly place and trigger effects.
- Ensuring effects hit all memory and frame rate guides.
- Working with production to define scope and timelines for project milestones.
- Developing and refining best practices and workflows to achieve production goals.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Portfolio/reel showcasing a range of real-time high-quality visual effects work including stylized content.
- Experience creating stylized effects to complement graphic art styles and visual themes.
- Experience in the games industry, with a proven track record of projects.
- Strong knowledge of Unreal VFX pipelines.
- Excellent artistic and creative skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to match the project’s visual style.
- Problem-solving skills to address technical and artistic challenges during production.
- Up-to-date with the latest VFX trends, techniques, and technologies.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members.
- Time management skills to meet project deadlines and manage resources efficiently.
