Job description

Working with the Sydney Water Resources Team Leader and other Water Resources Engineers with a focus on hydraulic modelling this role will have leadership over water resources assessments for a wide range of projects across multiple industries ranging from small to major projects. It offers the opportunity for a Senior Water Resources Engineer with strong proven experience in leading hydraulic modelling projects to progress with a wide and varied pipeline of future work.

We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual with demonstrated experience in hydraulic modelling (stormwater and flooding). These skills would be brought together through strong technical report writing skills.

This role can be appointed on either a full time or part time basis.

This role will see you involved in:
Delivery and accountability for technical assignments and design in Water Resources, Flooding and Stormwater Management projects
Investigation and report writing
Preparation of proposals and bids for projects and the management of small to medium projects incorporating external partners and client liaison
Supporting the management of a variety of multidisciplinary projects

What you will bring to the team:
Strong demonstrated understanding in delivery of hydraulic modelling projects.
The ability to appropriately scope and carry out the corresponding modelling tasks in accordance with NSW requirements the Floodplain Development Manual as well as the current edition of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR)
Demonstrated flood modelling reporting experience.
Advanced GIS capability
Advanced understanding of flood and drainage modelling procedures/packages (e.g. TUFLOW, RAFTS, RORB, DRAINS, 12D, AutoCAD) to lead specialist input.
Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to brief and budget
A business and relationship development attitude to enhance our client portfolio and project delivery
Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities
Bachelor of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
