About the Role
As the Senior Work Health Safety Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in engaging with all levels of the organisation to enhance safety awareness, drive continuous improvement, and nurture a culture of care. With a fresh focus on safety led by their new senior Safety and Wellbeing leader, they are embarking on a journey to review and elevate their safety culture.
You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the business, offering professional advice, implementing robust WHS systems, and providing coaching and leadership in WHS.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate meaningful consultation processes with operational leaders and employees to drive safety solutions and improvements.
- Offer guidance and support to managers in fulfilling WHS responsibilities and achieving safety objectives.
- Provide expert guidance and collaboration on hazard and incident reporting to address safety concerns effectively.
- Develop comprehensive schedules for WHS audits, inspections, and observations to proactively mitigate risks.
- Align WHS initiatives with the company’s strategic framework to support projects and enhance employee health and safety.
- Stay updated on WHS legislation and best practices, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
- Advise leaders and employees on HSW matters, legislative requirements, and drive positive workplace changes.
- Demonstrated experience in driving safety improvements within organisations, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills and a hands-on approach.
- Strong competencies in auditing, WHS project management, and effectively managing diverse risk portfolios.
- Possession of or working towards a formal qualification in Work Health and safety.
- Understanding of ISO safety standards and a demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislative requirements and procedures.
- Effective communication will be key to engaging leaders and driving successful consultation processes to enhance safety outcomes.
