Role Summary:
This position has primary responsibility for the installation, interfacing, operation and integrity of survey equipment deployed on Fugro projects. In the workshop, the position is responsible for the preparation, maintenance and repair of survey equipment.
Works with surveyors, geophysicists, data processors, other departments (inspection, ROV), client and subcontractor personnel as required to meet project objectives.
About You and what we require from the role:

  • To be responsible for the assembly, testing, installation and adjustment of survey equipment
  • Examine the equipment and diagnose faults including repairing equipment as required
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work away from home (locally and internationally) including offshore for long periods of time
  • Hold or able to complete and OGUK offshore medical cert and a BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) course.
  • Thorough understanding of the basics of positioning, marine acoustics, geophysics and general marine operations would be an advantage
  • Intermediate to advance computer literacy would be an advantage
  • Competent at electronic fault diagnostics and repairs
Education:
  • Qualification in Electronics or Communications Engineering
  • Diploma or equivalent trade qualification in Electronics and/or Communications Engineering
  • 3-8 Years experience
