HR Partners by Randstad has an opportunity for Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to join our client site in Logan. This role is an immediate start until September, Monday-Friday and paying $58.06 per hour.
About the role:
This is a role where you will demonstrate strategic, innovative and accountable leadership within the HS&W Operations Team and to a range of Branches, and the wider business. ensuring legislative compliance and HS&W objectives and targets are delivered. You will provide high level technical advice and support to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Program and other stakeholders in relation to these matters. Supporting the development and delivery of the HS&W Program vision and direction whilst effectively engaging with key stakeholders and internal client groups to ensure the HS&W Program responds to demands and identifies opportunities to improve the effectiveness of HS&W. You will provide outstanding leadership in identifying emerging H&S issues, embedding H&S risk management, systems and procedures and championing active engagement with the Work Health, Safety & Wellbeing Management System (WHSWMS).
- Provide expert health and safety advice to the Principal Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisors, Managers and staff working within higher safety-risk functions, regarding the implementation and application of health and safety legislation, risk assessment, workplace health and safety management system implementation, wellness program, incident management, workers compensation and return to work programs.
- Independently lead and conduct internal audits.
- Support Managers and senior personnel to develop and maintain HS&W processes consistent with workers' compensation self-insurance criteria
- Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the Workplace Health and Safety Regulator.

- Tertiary qualifications (Degree or Advanced Diploma) in work health and safety, or a related relevant field, or significant experience in a similar role.
- Accredited Lead WHS Auditor qualification with significant working experience as lead auditor.
- ICAM or similar lead investigator qualification with significant working experience as lead investigator.
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment with significant working experience in the development and delivery of training.
- HS&W leadership within a high functioning team.
- Assisting in embedding WHSWMS initiatives within a diverse and multifaceted organisation.
- Leading/assisting investigations, audits, risk assessments, policy development
- Delivery of change management activities for projects and other initiatives.
- Understanding of and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively working within a team in the provision of timely and technical HS&W advice at an operational level to achieve continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in interpreting and applying relevant legislation, leading/assisting in conducting HS&W investigations and auditing (preferably with National Self Insurer WHS Audit Tool)
- Advanced interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, mentoring and coaching skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience providing a quality focused client service to achieve business outcomes while managing multiple projects and issues to meet deadlines.
