About the Role
In this position, you'll exhibit strategic, innovative, and responsible leadership within the HS&W Operations Team and across various branches, as well as the wider business. Your main focus will be on ensuring compliance with legislation and achieving HS&W objectives and targets. This role involves both fieldwork and office-based tasks, with a particular emphasis on on-site work to engage our leaders and workers in our Target Zero journey.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain relationships through genuine consultation, collaboration, and influencing.
- Be a trusted advisor, partnering with branches to find practical solutions to health, safety, and wellness issues.
- Facilitate and deliver training programs to enhance safety knowledge across the organisation.
- Lead internal audits and investigations for serious safety incidents or possible breaches.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of health and safety initiatives for the whole organisation.
- Tertiary qualifications (Degree or Advanced Diploma) in work health and safety, or a related relevant field, (highly desirable) and/or significant experience in a similar role
- Detailed knowledge of current Work Health & Safety and Worker's Compensation and Rehabilitation legislation, regulations, codes, standards and guidelines
- Previous Government experience would be highly advantageous.
- Possession of a current driver's license is essential.
- Possession of a current 30215 General Safety Induction (Construction Industry).
