Your new company
Hays have partnered with a global leader in vehicle manufacturing and technology to appoint a Server and Application Support Technician to a 12-month rolling contract. Based in Wacol, and working with an outstanding team, this role isn't one you'll want to skip.
Your new role
As the Server and Application Support Technician, you'll be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the organisation's server infrastructure in the datacentre, as well as the internal applications hosted on those servers. While no day will look the same, some of your key duties and responsibilities will involve:
- Monitoring BAU datacentre/server operations, performing security patches and general maintenance when required
- Support the development of plans for backups and disaster recovery and execute those plans when necessary.
- Knowledge and a broad range of technical skills across various Microsoft products, both on premise, and M365, including Windows Server, Windows 10, SharePoint, ShareDrive, Office, SCCM, Teams and Intune.
- Lead the deployment and set-up of new servers, working with global partners to ensure on-time server delivery and deployment
- Liaising with HP and DELL in the case of a server going down and maintaining strong relationships with key vendor stakeholders
- Act as the subject-matter expert for business-critical applications
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be an accomplished IT professional, with minimum of 2+ years' experience in Windows Server management, projects, and implementation.. You'll possess a strong understanding of Windows servers, as well as knowledge of, and experience in datacentres and their operations. You'll also bring with you a working understanding of SQL databases, that you'll use to push the organisations' global partners and vendors to stick to agreed timeframes and business needs. This role will also want to use your exceptional communication and organisation skills, balancing multiple priorities and working to deadlines.
What you'll get in return
You'll be offered the opportunity to join a global organisation, within a high-performing team that will support your professional development. This company prides itself on their contracting workforce, and supports their contracting workers in the same way they do their permanent employees. Working out of their Wacol and (sometimes) Springfield offices, this will be a 12-month rolling contract, and you'll be remunerated at an attractive hourly rate dependent on skills and experience.
