About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Service Technician (Resident) to be based remotely and work with our regional Construction, Forestry and Vermeer customers supporting the Central NSW territory. This role will predominantly service customers in the following areas: Glen Innes, Inverell, Moree, Tenterfield, Grafton and Coffs Harbour. This role will report to our Brisbane Branch. We are ideally looking for someone to be based close to Coffs Harbour. Our closest branch is MacLean.This role will require extensive travel, therefore we are looking for the right person to rise to the challenge. Although you will be based remotely, you are not alone! Full support is provided through the Brisbane Branch as well as our wider aftermarket and training teams ensuring you are set up for success.We are keen to meet candidates that have prior experience of performing basic & complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery within the field. It is not essential to have experience with construction machinery. Customer service skills are essential as you are the face of the business in the field. The key responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to: Diagnose, inspect, recondition, and repair John Deere forestry and construction, as well as Vermeer products. Conduct regular pro-active service maintenance as per schedules. Ensure safety, quality and housekeeping rules are followed at all times. Document relevant machine information and repairs completed on work order, including parts, time and fluids used in our internal management system in line with company. Manage consignment stock allocated to the region for parts and service support. Proactively study and stay current on industry and product information providing advice and guidance to customers, the wider team and other key stakeholders within the business. Build and maintain excellent rapport with our customer base in the region. Generate work leads by customer interaction You will bring the following skills and experience to the role: Mechanical Trade Certificate - Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Fitter or Light Vehicle Experience in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products, including engine overhauls and major repairs including solid skill base in electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic. Experience with all types of repairs including electrical diagnostic on late model equipment A current and valid medium rigid driver’s licence. Strong customer service focus and dedicated work ethic. A mature attitude and logical and methodical approach to your work. Possession of high risk work tickets and/or licenses would be highly regarded.
