About the opportunity

The Victorian Government’s North East Link Program is Victoria’s biggest road project that will fix the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network. The project will connect the Eastern Freeway to the M80 Ring Road with new twin tunnels, taking 15,000 trucks a day off local roads, slashing travel times by up to 35 minutes and create new open spaces and walking and cycling connections for local communities.

The project includes a massive overhaul of the Eastern Freeway, creating new express lanes and Melbourne’s first dedicated busway with two new park and ride facilities improving access to public transport in the eastern suburbs.  

Laing O’Rourke are working with North East Link Program, Symal, Arcadis and WSP to develop and deliver value-for-money engineering solutions for North East Link Program’s South Package, which includes Eastern Freeway upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road including major bridge upgrades, road upgrades, lane duplications, a new interchange connecting to the North East Link Tunnels and new and upgraded walking and cycling connections and open spaces.

About the role

We are currently seeking a Service/Utility Locator to join us we have a strong pipeline with many opportunities for career progression right here in Victoria.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting site walks with relevant personnel, identifying existing utility assets,
• Liaison with stakeholders (e.g. Utility Service Providers’s) to ensure compliance to their standards
• Liaising with the project management team to achieve project objectives and coordinate and review the scopes of work and direct personnel accordingly.
• Conduct field work in challenging environments

About you

You will have exposure across infrastructure, construction or rail projects. A positive commitment towards Safety & Wellbeing as well as strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this role.

• Current Drivers Licence
• White Card
• Good Written and verbal communication
• Any previous exposure in a similar role would be highly regarded
