Our Client:
Our client specializes in Sexual Violence intervention and prevention who provide services to women and young women 14 years and over who have been subjected to Sexual Violence at any time in their lives. Their vision is to create a safe community free from sexual, domestic, and family violence and are looking for a Sexual Violence Counsellor to join their team.
About the Role:
The role will require you to counsel and advocate for women who have experience Sexual Violence as well as co-facilitating support groups.
This is a Part-time role working 32 hours per week base on the Gold Coast.
To be successful in the role it is a requirement that you hold the following.
- Have completed a recognised degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or behavioural sciences.
- Minium 1-3 years’ experience within Sexual violence and/or trauma.
- Ability to articulate a comprehensive feminist analysis of Sexual Violence, an understanding of trauma and the effects of violence against women.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and show initiative whilst continuing to operate effectively as part of a team.
- General ability or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of Queensland legislation pertaining to violence against women.
- Demonstrated possession of highly developed communication skills. This includes an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous Australians and people from other cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Current Blue Card and a clear Police Check.
