About the role

Our Federal Government client is seeking a SharePoint Administrator to join their team in Canberra to assist with the maintenance and configuration of their SharePoint environments. The branch is committed to monitoring, review and improvement and adopting best practice, including using risk-return principles, innovation and project management principles.

Key responsibilities

• Administering the branch’s SharePoint site

• Setting up and configuring SharePoint environments, including installation on servers (for on-premises), configuration of service applications, and ensuring integration with other business systems.

• Regularly maintaining the SharePoint environment, which includes patching, updates, and upgrades to ensure security, functionality, and compatibility.

• Managing user access and permissions to ensure security and appropriate access levels. This involves creating and maintaining user groups, granting or restricting access to different parts of the SharePoint site, and monitoring user activity.

• Implementing and maintaining backup procedures to safeguard data. This also involves planning and testing disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime in case of failures.

• Assisting in the management of content within SharePoint, which can include overseeing how data is stored, archived, and retrieved.

• Providing training and support to end-users. This includes creating documentation, conducting training sessions, and assisting users with queries and issues.

Skills and experience

• 1-2 years of experience within a large complex organisation.

• Experience using Microsoft Power Automate.

• Experience conducting training sessions with teams.

• AGSVA Baseline Security clearance required
