Our farming business is rapidly expanding and we have come to the point where we need a full time Sheet metal operator / farm hand on farm. We have to erect many km’s of fencing and need all the strainer posts to be welded. We need the welder to manufacture gates for the fence lines. This employee will also need to build cattle grids for all these gate entrances.
Gateway will start planting feed and we need to erect sheds to store the feed in. The employee must be able to read drawings and manage a team in order to complete the building of these sheds.
Gateway has to erect numerous sets of cattle yards and this will also be done of drawings to specification. All yards will be welded and also has to be inspected to standard.
Gateway also plans on setting up feeder cattle yards for a small feedlot of around 600 steers. The employee will also be in charge of that and will have to do this of drawings and to specification.
In between this work there will also be normal day to day jobs on the farm that the employee will have to do.
The position will entail:
Sheet metal and welding
- Interpretation of parts drawings and specifications to build sheds and cattle yards;
- Material handling using tractor
- Perform routine maintenance and rectify minor issues with machines
- Conduct quality control checks
- Assisting the team with being on tools to fulfil production requirements.
- Stock take & general inventory management as required.
- Manufacture framework sections in metal, by working from drawings, and by using fabrication machinery, all types of welding and cutting equipment.
- Current Driver’s License
