1. Manage the co-ordination and provision of an appropriate intensive New Arrivals program for primary and secondary students. Arrange placement of students from satellite schools.
2. Manage the SELC at the Hayes St Campus on a day to day basis.
3. Coordinate, publish and distribute accountability documentation such as the Annual Report, Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.
4. Co-ordinate and provide reports to the Principal, School Council, SELC Governance Committee and DEECD as required
5. Manage the finances and budget of SELC, in conjunction with the Business Manager, to ensure that income exceeds expenditure on an annual basis
6. Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and government policy, especially OHS and EO.
7. Oversee the development of SELC¿s ESL Curriculum to create an inclusive curriculum, the acquisition of English and prepares students for future learning.
8. Develop an engaging physical learning environment.
9. Oversee Assessment and Reporting of student learning using DEECD requirements such as the Progression Measures, QuickVic Reporting package.
10. Coordinate assistance for students who are considered ¿at risk¿ with mainstream base schools including assessments, medical referrals and welfare programs.
11. Organise and negotiate teaching timetables to accommodate staff teaching across different locations
12. Develop and maintain a data base for the purpose of recording such ELC activity as schools, student numbers, exits, staffing allocations etc.
13. Coordinate visits for shadowing / mentoring programs, interested parties and government bodies.
14. Foster a committed, team-oriented approach to ESL program delivery whilst encouraging individuals to further their professional development.
15. Conduct regular staff meetings for the purposes of administration, professional development of staff, the development of an ESL Curriculum Framework for SELC, and respond to any Review recommendations.
16. Conduct and collate the annual opinion surveys with staff, ensuring the focus is on the SELC as a discrete unit.
17. Conduct staff performance reviews.
18. Delegate appropriate responsibilities to staff members as per agreement.
19. Promote SELC and the New Arrivals Program within the schools and community as required and liaise with agencies for positive outcomes for all students.
20. Act as Executive Officer for the SELC Governance Committee.
21. Organise an excursion system for staff and students including documentation and an emphasis on duty of care.
22. Manage the Hayes St campus building complex on a daily basis.
