An opportunity currently exists for an experienced Miller based at our Mile End site, on a full-time permanent basis. The primary purpose of this role is to monitor and assist in the day to day milling operation ensuring it is completed to Company and Customer expectations. This includes setup, quality conformance and WHSE and GMP compliance.
Key accountabilities include:
- Grist monitoring / blend formulation.
- Wheat blending / cleaning.
- Adjusts production plan / monitors throughput.
- Forecasts offal production.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of production data.
- Data collection for ancillary monitoring such as OEE, EEO etc.
- Participation in Energy Reduction initiatives.
- Reflowing of Mill when required and authorised.
- Training of Assistant Millers in milling and mill setup.
- After hours loading and testing of bulk loads if required.
- Conduct regular testing of Wheat / Maize and Flour to ensure correct grist to company and customer standards.
- Completion of all relevant CCP & Quality checks and completion of relevant paperwork.
- Follow all WHSE procedures.
- Ensures GMP policies are adhered to.
- Follow cleaning schedules for mill.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Must have experience as a Miller within the milling industry.
- Flour Milling Certificate (e.g. City & Guilds or NABIM) would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated understanding of HS&E, HACCP, ISO & GMP requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- Willing to work across a 24/7 rotating roster.
