Applications are being sought for the position of Shipwright on-board Spirit of Tasmania

We are looking for a self-motivated person to join our team of Shipwrights on a casual basis.
You will be responsible for a variety of general and planned maintenance tasks to ensure passenger comfort needs as well as overseeing mooring and anchoring requirements when required.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status or a medical exemption from a registered medical practitioner in compliance with Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAG) guidelines. Employment cannot be offered if you are unable to meet these conditions.
- A Certificate of Proficiency in the Trade of Shipwrighting/Boatbuilding
- Strong skills in carpentry and/or plumbing with previous experience working with sewage systems an advantage.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
- Ability to obtain and hold an AMSA medical certificate of fitness.
- Ability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
- Previous seagoing experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant will be required to attend a Sea Safety Training Course at the Australian Maritime College in Launceston, Tasmania from 16 - 26 May 2024.
