 Reporting to the Head of Shopper Marketing and Sustainability, this role is part of a team striving to be both the #1 Shopper Marketing within team Australia and the #1 market for PepsiCo globally. This is role is responsible for managing one of our largest customers Woolworths while also leading the national execution strategy for #1 brand in the category Smith’s. In a newly created structure this role will also be responsible for managing one of our Shopper Marketing activation executives. Given the level and nature of the role, we are looking for someone who has at least 4 years experience in a Shopper, Trade or Brand Marketing role within the FMCG sector. The right person for this role is familiar with FMCG retailer dynamics and has the ability to understand category trends and insights and utilise these to build effective customer and shopper plans.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Managing Woolworths Supermarkets marketing strategy
    • Responsible for creating and executing the end-to-end Shopper Marketing strategy across the total PepsiCo portfolio within Woolworths Supermarkets.
    • Work cross functionally with sales, category, and e-com teams to balance activation strategies alongside commercial requirements.
    • Support or lead key Woolworths meetings such as range reviews, activation sessions and long term planning.
    • Work in partnership with the Cartology team to drive optimum ROI on PepsiCo investments, gaining first to market advantage on new activation opportunities and maintain a test and learn culture.
    • Evaluate ROI for activations to refine future decision making, including use of analytical tools of Circana and Quantium
  • Strategic and creative lead for Smith’s.
    • Responsible for the creative and execution strategy of Smith’s across all channels.
    • Project management of all Smith’s activations across internal and external stakeholders leading retailer / internal presentations and cross functional WIPs.
    • Ensure an appropriate blend of consumer /shopper insights supports the activation plan for each initiative, with clear KPIs ahead of the campaign and a robust post campaign analysis to capture leanings for future activations.
    • Work in partnership with our brand team and shopper agencies to develop agency briefs, evaluate concepts to set campaign KVs, CTAs and channel strategy.
    • Work with the Shopper Marketing Activation Executive to roll out Smith’s campaign POS, retail media, AR assets and selling materials to actively engage retailer buying /marketing teams AND enable field team execution/support.
  • Budget Management process including:
    • Responsible for total Smith’s and Woolworths budget spend.
    • Forecast budgets in conjunction with customer team to maximise future plans
    • Work with eh Shopper Marketing Activation Executive to ensure Shopper budgets are updated and reconciled on a monthly basis, purchase orders raised, goods receipted and invoices approved for payment.
    • Act As Owner to ensure best negotiated value of supplier estimates and drive productivity gains
  • Coaching and developing the Shopper Marketing Activation Executive:
    • Running weekly WIPs to ensure the Shopper Marketing Activation Executive is across their workload, can meet their deadlines and is getting the required to support to enable them to do their role.
    • Managing the personal development plan for the executive including annual PDR reviews and career development conversations.
Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Degree qualified with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in FMCG shopper / consumer marketing or senior role within shopper agency.
  • Experience working on large scale campaigns for major grocery retailers.
  • Understanding of FMCG retailer dynamics, and ability to understand category trends and insights and utilise these to build effective customer/shopper plans.
  • Proven analytical, planning and organisation skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong, cross functional relationships (internal and external), and work collaboratively with others to deliver business outcomes.
  • Solid communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstration of ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Results driven, with ‘can do’ attitude
