Our Maintenance and Industrial Services division specialises in the planning, management and execution of maintenance, shutdowns and sustaining capital works. Monadelphous has been a part of the Central Queensland community for 40 years, providing vital jobs to locals and those who consider Gladstone home.
We have a great FIFO & LOCAL opportunity for experienced SMP Supervisors to join our shutdown leadership team based in Gladstone, Central Queensland.
The role of SMP Supervisor will see you play a vital role in an Alumina Refinery shutdown, specifically focusing on Digestion Units 1&2 and Units 3&4.
Pre-Shutdown:
Units 1&2: Monday, 15 April 2024 – Friday, 17 May 2024
Units 3&4: Monday, 22 July 2024 – Friday, 16 August 2024
Execution:
Units 1&2: Monday, 20 May 2024 (approx. 4 weeks)
Units 3&4: Monday, 19 August 2024 (approx. 4 weeks)
The successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of tasks from planning, coordinating, supervising daily activities of welders and ensuring project compliance are met.

What you will bring
- Prior supervisory experience in shutdown environments, preferably within Alumina or similar continuous processing plants.
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate – Fabrication
- AS1796 Cert 10 – Advantageous but not essential
- Confined Space, Gas Test Atmosphere & Working Heights Training within 3 years.
- Confident and capable user of MS Office Suite
- Strong communication skills with all levels of the organisation.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A focus on providing outstanding customer service.
- Work cooperatively with others to accomplish project/site goals.
- A positive attitude and dedication to ongoing professional development
- Proof of right to work in Australia.
