AddressWe currently have an immediate requirement for a Signaling Engineer(Mid to Senior level) to work with our client, a major rail operator, to undertake a variety of engineering, review, and interface activities.
This is a 12-month contract role working on a daily rate with an opportunity for extension.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Review design engineering documentation for accuracy and compliance with standards, legislation, client and operational requirements.
- Review functional specifications, design reports, and other documents.
- Ensure As Built documentation accurately reflects approved construction design
- Maintain design comments register and update status of all comments
- Liaise with stakeholders to review design comments and seek input as needed
- Support Engineering Manager in issue resolution and interdisciplinary coordination
- Develop design briefing notes summarizing status, open comments, risks, and conditions
- Assist in reviewing design queries, requests for information, scope changes, and non-conformances
- Review quality assurance documentation and work methodologies for compliance
- Coordinate and manage design process, including attendance at presentations, workshops, and meetings.
Skills and Requirements
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar (Mechanical Engineers who have electronic/electrical systems understanding will also be considered)
- Level 2 Signaling Statement of Competency (SOC)
- Chartered or ability to get chartered
- Experience in reviewing design, completing design, maintenance, reliability, project delivery or similar for signaling
- Good written and spoken English language skills including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels and develop detailed engineering documentation
- Good understanding of engineering change management, systems engineering, and other related concepts
