Position Description:
As a Simulator Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting CSSIM end-users at various sites. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with the CSSIM Programme Manager and NSWC Simulation Support Staff to ensure the operational efficiency of simulators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain simulator operability and availability for end-users.
- Act as a liaison between the CSSIM Programme Manager and engineering resources.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support for URDEFs and site engineering tasks.
- Utilize your expertise in maritime warfare environments to contribute to training effectiveness.

Experience, Qualifications, and Technical Skills:
- 5-10 years of experience in the maritime warfare environment, encompassing both real-world and synthetic training scenarios.
- Proficiency in techniques, tools, and approaches for application development, system integration, and maritime warfare operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and extensive hands-on technical experience in troubleshooting complex issues.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline are preferred, demonstrating a solid educational background.
- Expertise in network traffic analysis and troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark.
- Proficient in Linux performance analysis, network monitoring, and debugging tools (gdb/strace/ldd).
- Skilled in shell scripting, including Bourne and C Shell, and possesses expertise in IP stack layers.
