Site Electrical Engineer

The Company

This global leader in specialty chemicals powers the potential of companies in many of the world's largest and most critical industries, from energy and communications to transportation and electronics.  They are an industry leader in lithium, are making their mark on a greenfield project in regional WA in a world-class lithium hydroxide manufacturing facility.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Site Electrical Engineer. In this site-based Monday to Friday role you will provide construction support as well as technical assistance and advice on construction activities, shutdown planning, and design guidance on new and existing electrical installations. 

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring adherence to corporate safety Standards fostering development and improvement of the safety culture of the plant.
• Works collaboratively with both the Project and Operation teams.
• Contributes to the shutdown planning.
• Contributes to the development of the integrated Project schedules.
• Provides input into technical alternatives and ensures resolution of issues relating to operability and maintainability.
• Additionally the role involves supplying requirements for:
  • Commissioning schedules; 
  • Participating in HAZOP’s;
  • Developing and reviewing relevant documentation;
  • Review equipment specifications and selections;
  • Punch listing project facilities;
• Assists in resolving plant Electrical issues and concerns, while liaising with maintenance and reliability engineers. 

The Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia, and be capable of demonstrating the following:

• 5 or more years of professional Electrical Engineering experience 
•  Prior experience working with EPCM Greenfields or Brownfields environment, preferably in a processing plant either in general or mining processing industry.
• Ability to review overall project issues and requirements, delegating detailed engineering requirements for resolution.
• Demonstrate organisational approach to risk management and Management of Change systems.
• Strong communication skills in multi-discipline teams.
• Significant demonstrated experience with Electrical system commissioning.

The Offer

This is a 12 month contract position for a South West local, or alternatively accommodation will be provided Monday to Friday in Australind.
