Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer | Minerals & Metals - Site Based

Wood is recruiting for a Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Minerals & Metals business based in Perth, Western Australia. This role will be initially Site Based in the Kwinana Strip.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our teams are based in Perth & Brisbane however we are supporting a client through some project and asset optimization packages in their facility on site. In this role you will join the team on site to deliver the scopes of work for a battery metal facility. You will be an integral role in our team, bringing your knowledge insight and passion for delivering quality and efficiency for our client's developments.

As a key part of the Wood team, you will be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to: - 

• The overall production of Electrical / I&C engineering deliverables such as specification, calculations, technical evaluations, reports and drawings. 
• Providing technical support across the business including to on-site construction, estimating, procurement and project departments. 
• Provides technical advice on design processes, construction methods and other technical areas. 
• Advises on the development of new engineering methods and participates in short and long-range planning.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to a team, potentially support in coaching, recruitment and retention activities.  

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a Senior/Lead experienced in the detailed engineering and execution of medium to large scale EPCM projects in the critical minerals sector, with some experience in hydrometallurgical developments. Your passion for working in dynamic and agile industries will see you drive a collaborative and cohesive working relationship between our clients and internal teams, to identify and delivery optimal solutions for project requirements. 

You will also have: -

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution 
• Member of Engineers Australia, or willing to work toward membership - Design experience in wet and/or dry mineral processing plants, preferable not essential
• Site experience either in construction, commissioning or operations, is desired but not essential
• Prior experience within cross alignment of mechanical /piping/pumps and hydraulic design engineering would be a desired skill set for wet plant processing. 
• Ability to problem-solve effectively and identify technical and safety based risks, with commitment to HSE
• Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs  Ability to work to a time frame and deliver on budget
