The Foreman is an integral part of the Carty Homes team. You will be responsible for the overall site, leading a team of carpenters and labourers, looking after the build from start to finish and on-site safety as well as all correspondence with the owner and architect.
Foreman Duties
- Lead and mentor a team of carpenters and labourers to ensure that budget and time schedules are productively met
- Read and interpret detailed site plans
- Liaise with all stakeholders as required throughout all steps of the build
- Organise and assist trades and labour on site
- Regularly update the Construction and Project Manager on the status of the build
- Manage site safety and WHS to ensure that all policies and procedures are met daily
- Ensure regular and final clean-up of work areas
- Coordinate trades and subcontractors
- Conduct on site inductions and training of new staff where required
- Ensure that quality standards are achieved first time
- Be willing and able to work on the tools as required
Essential Criteria
- Experienced Site Foreman or leading hand carpenter with sound knowledge of managing trades and running jobs from start to finish.
- Trade qualified in carpentry is a must
- Ability to lead and coordinate site staff to ensure productivity targets are met without compromise on quality
- Previous experience with a residential builder preferred in high end custom homes
- Good working IT knowledge would be advantageous however training will be provided
- Excellent record in safe work practices
- Excellent eye for detail and time management skills
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Current NSW Drivers licence
