Fantastic opportunity to join Next Generation Electrical (NG/E), an electrical contracting business that focuses on renewable energy solutions, such as rooftop solar, microgrids, solar farms, EV charging stations and energy storage (battery), in addition to providing electrical solutions to domestic and commercial customers.
The Project
The project encompasses the design, procurement, manufacture, construction, testing, commissioning of a High Voltage (HV) network and rooftop solar system for the site in Swanbank, QLD. The HV & Solar PV System will consist of the following:
- ~3.4 MWDC fixed Rooftop Solar System
- Central Inverter/Power Station
- Site HV reticulation network (up to the Point of Connection [POC])
- Communications network
- Demand and building management related infrastructure
- High voltage, low voltage & earthing infrastructure
The Role
The role will require you to set up site, successfully run the site on a day-to-day basis (including site meetings), manage all contractors and staff onsite and have site control all the way through to completion and handover.
The Site Manager will be responsible for:
- Provide clear HSE leadership and direction to the site team;
- Manage contract processes associated with projects construction activities, including variations and EOT’s;
- Client engagement – working with facility management and sub-contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to a standard with minimum disturbance;
- Facilitate and run site pre-start meetings;
- Manage site mobilisation and demobilisation including day to day site logistics;
- Management of site registers and site-specific documentation, including site inspection & SWMS review checklists;
- Management of goods receiving, distribution and quality auditing of stock.
Skills & Experience
The role will ideally suit an experienced Site Manager with a positive can-do attitude. The successful candidate will be able to problem solve, have a proactive work ethic coupled with the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
- Current certification and qualification in the Electrical Trade;
- 2 years minimum experience in a similar position within the construction industry;
- Completion of management, leadership, commercial or similar program is favourable;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with running a site for a solar project;
- Demonstrated understanding of implementing HSE procedures and promoting a safety culture onsite.
