We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Indigenous Mentor to join our Solomon team.


About the Role:

  • Assist in identifying, implementing and managing Indigenous inclusion and diversity programs across the business.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance and support to Indigenous employees in setting and achieving personal, educational, and career goals.
  • Conduct and maintain regular check-ins and assessments to monitor Indigenous employee progress and well-being.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on program activities, employee feedback, progress and outcomes.
  • Promote and assist employee retention as well as escalate issues.
  • Serve as a role model, teacher, advisor and advocate.
  • Encourage, coach and assist indigenous employees to overcome a range of challenges in the workplace.
  • Effectively work through conflicts in considerate ways.
  • Manage cultural activities such as NAIDOC, Nameless Festival and any other cultural, inclusion and diversity activities.

Key Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Mentoring or a related field (desirable)
  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Experience in managing, mentoring and training Indigenous Australians
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture as well as the issues their facing
  • Ability to coach, engage, inspire, encourage and motivate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander employees
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, reporting and computer skills
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment medical and LABDAS prior to employment.
