We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Indigenous Mentor to join our Solomon team.
About the Role:
- Assist in identifying, implementing and managing Indigenous inclusion and diversity programs across the business.
- Provide mentorship, guidance and support to Indigenous employees in setting and achieving personal, educational, and career goals.
- Conduct and maintain regular check-ins and assessments to monitor Indigenous employee progress and well-being.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports on program activities, employee feedback, progress and outcomes.
- Promote and assist employee retention as well as escalate issues.
- Serve as a role model, teacher, advisor and advocate.
- Encourage, coach and assist indigenous employees to overcome a range of challenges in the workplace.
- Effectively work through conflicts in considerate ways.
- Manage cultural activities such as NAIDOC, Nameless Festival and any other cultural, inclusion and diversity activities.
Key Criteria:
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Mentoring or a related field (desirable)
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Experience in managing, mentoring and training Indigenous Australians
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture as well as the issues their facing
- Ability to coach, engage, inspire, encourage and motivate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander employees
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, reporting and computer skills
- Willingness to complete pre-employment medical and LABDAS prior to employment.
