We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.About the roleWe’re seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting automated deployments for the Transurban’s Cloud Platform and Transurban’s Core Customer and Billing Platform, GLIDe.You’ll join an innovative team with a supportive and collaborative culture to focus on maintaining and improving our deployment processes.As our Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.Day-to-day, you will:
- Creation, modification and enhancement of code, where appropriate, delivered for Continuous Delivery (CD) and Continuous integration (CI) in accordance with DevOps best practice.
- Work with software engineering teams to ensure build and deployment automation adheres to best practice and aligns to platform standards, including TU security policies.
- Remediate delivery pipeline issues detected during release phases.
- After hours on-call support for deployments may be required.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to gather and analyse metrics from both operations systems and applications to assist in designing branching strategy and automated deployments.
- Partner with Engineering teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
- Work with Technology Operations and Release teams to ensure quality and efficiency in our release and deployment process.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders, and effectively communicating and where necessary influencing stakeholders to meet service reliability objectives.
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Previous experience with application development methodologies.
- Experience in various DevOps and Automation tooling e.g., Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, Octopus deploy
- Experience with Cloud based architecture and continuous deployment (AWS, Cloud Formation)
- Experience in managing infrastructure and deploying applications in AWS and on-premises.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, SSL and best practices
- Experience in various programming / scripting tools, e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy, Java.
