VACANCY for the POSITION of Skilled Labourer - Contract Services, Part-Time (24 Hours up to 36.5 Hours per week non-ongoing 12 Month Contract possible extension)

The WBACC operates three divisions these being Administration Services, Contract Services and Early Childhood Services. A position currently exists within the WBACC Contract Services for a Skilled Labourer; therefore we are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position/s.
WBACC offers an attractive remuneration with salary packaging opportunities available.
The Skilled Labourer outcomes and purpose is as follows:
- Assist WBACC Contract Services to meet Service Level Agreements with BNP;
- Assist WBACC with land management outcomes within the confines of Wreck Bay Land;
Assist Contract Services to meet other contract arrangements;
- Undertake other duties as required.
- The ideal candidate will possess:
- Good communication skills;
- Ability to relate to other staff and Community;
- Enthusiastic, keen and have “can do” attitude
- Ability to liaise with a wide group of people;
- Time management skills and a proactive approach & the ability to accept responsibility;
- Problem Solving and analytical skills;
- Basic computer literacy in Word and Excel;
It is essential that you:
- Demonstrate effective communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team;
It is desirable you have all or the willingness to obtain the following:
- Cert III Civil Construction;
- Plant tickets;
- TMI (Traffic Management Implementation);
- White Card;
- MR License;
- Chainsaw tickets;
- First Aid certificate;
Eligible applicants are only persons:
- of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
- who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and
- who are accepted by their community as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Upon starting you must obtain an ACT Working with Vulnerable Peoples clearance and a National Police check within the first 3 months of starting.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and self-starting team-player, with a considerable amount of a “can do” attitude coupled with the essential quality of being a people person.
