Job Description:

Join Coastal Adventure Tours as a Skipper shared between our one-of-a-kind glass-bottomed jet boat, “Piatella”, and our Sailing Catamaran “Coral Breeze”! 

On Piatella, we specialize in small group half-day tours often interacting with manta rays, with plans to expand our tours to full day wildlife tours, offering guests unforgettable experiences exploring the remote vibrant underwater world. Coral Breeze offers a variety of tours with unguided snorkelling, sunset sailing, and more. As a key member of our crew, you’ll skipper our excursions, conduct coral viewing, snorkelling tours, and sailing tours ensuring every moment is filled with excitement and wonder for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate our Hamilton jet-powered glass-bottomed boat during wildlife safari tours and sailing our catamaran for unguided snorkelling sailing tours.
  • Provide informative commentary to guests about the marine life and ecosystems they encounter.
  • Ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members at all times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of the vessels.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of passengers and equipment as needed.
  • Adhere to all relevant maritime regulations and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Valid Coxswain qualifications.
  • Current first aid
  • Proven experience as a skipper, preferably with experience operating jet boats or sailing.
  • Excellent knowledge of marine safety procedures and regulations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
  • Have knowledge of the Ningaloo region
  • Be responsible and punctual
  • Be able to have fun whilst operating within set rules/regulations
  • Have a keen eye for detail and be able to spot issues before they arise
  • Be a generally handy person with basic mechanical knowledge
