🛥️ Position: Fishing Guide/Skipper
📍 Location: Port Douglas + Cairns
About Us: We pride ourselves on delivering five-star fishing adventures on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef. Our team is committed to safety, exceptional service, and creating memorable experiences for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vessel Operation: Ensure all safety equipment, fuel, bait, and tackle are prepared and in excellent condition. Navigate to fishing grounds, adhere to zoning laws, and maintain vessel safety.
- Customer Service: Provide personalized service, assist with fishing activities, handle complaints professionally, and maintain the cleanliness of the vessel.
- General Duties: Maintain a friendly attitude, respect equipment, attend meetings and training, and adhere to WHS requirements and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Coxswain qualification
- Current First Aid Certificate (Senior First Aid and CPR certification)
- Strong vessel-handling and navigational skills
- Knowledge of the Maritime Act and Fisheries Act
- Ability to identify fish using radars and echo-sounders
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit with the ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to swim confidently and perform basic maintenance tasks
