Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a Social & Digital Manager to join a tight-knit group of individuals supporting a global Fortune 50 energy company to develop and expand its digital presence across the Asia Pacific region. Based in Sydney Australia, the ideal candidate is passionate about how the world communicates and the role of social media, and will be a key ally to support the Regional Strategy Manager in delivering a compelling brand narrative across various digital channels.

In this role, you'll serve as an internal consultant throughout the Asia Pacific region working closely with the country teams, guiding the development of content and growth of the social media channels helping transform our clients' businesses for the future. You'll be responsible for managing the creation of quality content, liaising with internal teams and client resources to maintain an organized workflow from original concepts through to production, approval, launch and measurement.

What you'll do:

  • Key contributor of client social and newsletter programs - coordinating, planning and managing content calendars across all social media platforms, paid and organic.
  • Work closely with the Asia Pacific content production team; build trust with client contacts and internal teams and contextualize information to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Propose and facilitate the creation of social-first content that complements key campaigns and topical events.
  • Propose best-in-class, digestible social adaptations inspired by evergreen editorial content, recent interviews, productions and photoshoots.
  • Proactively advise on tactics and collaboratively execute plans when necessary that will help grow affiliate social media platforms, including editorial calendar planning, implementation, copywriting, paid support and measurement reporting.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the client's field, speaking clearly to the competitive landscape, products, services, trends and brand positions within the client's business.
  • Present approaches, insights and recommendations on paid support strategy and tactics; ability to demonstrate brand impact and business objectives.
  • Design community management best practices guidelines and advise teams on an ad hoc basis on response protocols.
  • Assess and recommend strategies for building efficiencies, streamlining operations, and enhancing the overall content experience.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, social platform updates and algorithmic changes, identifying opportunities to unlock organic growth.

What you'll bring:

We'd like you to tick as many of the below off as possible but you don't have to match 100% of these bullets - we're looking for a unique individual and as such "unusual" shapes of person and profile are welcome.

  • 4-5 years of social media strategy and content marketing experience, either within the creative industries or a comparable setting where you've had to work with many different departments, people, and mindsets
  • Highly knowledgeable of the major social media platforms such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, WeChat, with strong fluency in channel functionality and best practices. Experience in Weibo, Douyin and Kakao Talk is a plus.
  • Highly skilled in leveraging social in a reputational and/or advocacy context (B2B and B2C)
  • Proficient using social content seeding and measurement tools such as, but not limited to: Google Analytics (UA & GA4), Mailchimp, Salesforce.
  • Proven track record of significantly driving engagement and conversion via paid social and organic social tactical experience
  • Experience liaising with external suppliers including social platforms and paid media agencies
  • Experience working with regional accounts and an understanding of various demographics and cultures across APAC, markets such as Singapore, India, China, Indonesia and more.
  • Willingness to travel overseas for on-ground activations and productions.
  • Experience working on technology or oil and gas industries, but not a deal-breaker
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to sell concepts and strategy to current and prospective clients
  • Experience in briefing and working with designers to bring concepts to live.
