Social Inclusion Action Group

The Social Inclusion Action Group is a group of local community members who want to improve social connection for Latrobe City. These community members will understand local needs to ensure everyone is able to join in and make long lasting connections. The group will come together 10 times a year and learn about local projects and will recommend which projects should receive funding. The group will also give feedback to make funded projects even better for Latrobe City.

The Role

• Be a voice for community members like you.
• Listen or read information and give your opinions about local projects.
• Make recommendations based on information and your own lived experience.
• Give feedback on projects and make things fairer and more accessible for everyone.
• Help everyone in our community feel more connected.

About You

We are looking for people who

• Have a strong connection to Latrobe City
• Have direct lived experience of social exclusion, has supported a person who has been excluded or is passionate about social connection and mental health.
• Are a good team member who is respectful of other people’s experience and opinions.
• Have a positive attitude and are ready to learn and try new things.

You Will Need

Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Expression of Interest Close - 15 March 2024

Group interview dates - 25-27 March 2024

Selection of Members - 2-5 April 2024

Member Induction - 17 April 2024
