Are you passionate about your community?About the roleWe are seeking a dedicated Social Mission Chaplain! You will provide expertise focusing on the pastoral needs of others. Additionally, you will work with staff to support holistic client care and religious services.Responsibilities includeProvide pastoral care, encouraging people to explore their spirituality and move forward in their personal faith journeyEstablish productive links with other faith expressions to support people transitioning into other faith communities external to the serviceChaplains assist staff and management or other stakeholders to understand The Salvation Army theologyConducts faith-based ceremonies and religious practicesFacilitate faith-based activities, where appropriate, in accordance to the Spirituality Framework of the serviceThis is a permanent full-time position, based in Ulverstone, TAS.What you will haveDiploma of Chaplaincy (mandatory)Training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) (desirable or working towards)Relevant qualifications in theological studies (desirable or working towards)Positive Lifestyle Program (PLP) Facilitator training (desirable or working towards)Demonstrate understanding of theoretical knowledge and theological underpinning for ministryMeets yearly credential requirements of the Territorial Chaplaincy Support Unit (TCSU) to be registered as a TSA ChaplainMandatory participation in: Regular professional supervision, Area Leadership Teams (where requested), Monthly spiritual retreat dayValid and current Driver's LicenceVaccination Status (if required)Benefits working at The Salvation ArmyEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling serviceAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate, and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contributionApplications will close as soon as a suitable candidate is secured.
