A little about the role
Our team of Social Workers and Case Workers provide service delivery throughout Tasmania, across the continuum of care within our Foster Care and Families for Life Programs.
Our Families Program are currently looking for Social Workers/Case Workers to join the team in providing support and engagement which enables children and young people to safely remain with, or be restored to their families. This support includes conducting needs and risk assessments, developing time limited intervention plans, and partnering with Parents, Children and Young People, Carers and Stakeholders.
Our office is located in Kingston with hybrid working options available.
As a Social Worker/ Case Worker in our Families team, you will be responsible for:
- Providing therapeutic interventions and support, psychoeducation, crisis management, and practical support to families, in accordance with the intervention plan, paying particular attention to impacts of parental drug use, social disadvantage, mental health problems, family violence, child abuse and neglect.
- Develop and facilitate Key Care Team meetings and work closely with Child Safety Services to monitor risks and individual outcomes reporting.
- Establish and maintain appropriate professional records, ensuring documentation is relevant, contemporaneous and in accordance with Key Assets Policy and Departmental expectations.
The base salary for this position is $80,964 - $87,126 per annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
This position is full-time, ongoing.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
- Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant recognised Qualification;
- Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young people and families;
- Prior experience assessing parenting capacity and/or families in their own homes;
- Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
