What role will you play?

As an experienced full-time Software Engineering Manager, reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team of five Software Engineers, two Test Engineers, and a Technical Writer. You will be a key member of the operational team, focusing on the strategic development of the AutumnCare products and future roadmap. You will provide strategic and technical input into the OneTouch products and align with the group development strategy.

Your role will combine technical expertise and people management, with a focus on championing the best technical principles and practices. In addition to technology ownership, you will play a crucial role in developing the team, mentoring them, and providing leadership on complex product issues.

Ideally, you will have experience working with external stakeholders (customers, partners, vendors) to understand product needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, strategic direction, and technical guidance to enhance our product development, meeting business objectives, aligning with clinical best practices, and addressing customer needs.
  • Coach and support the Development team, championing best practices, methodologies, and tools to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Development team and internal stakeholders to create roadmaps, define delivery goals, and achieve them within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with customers to understand their business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Oversee and manage software release processes and cycles, ensuring efficient and timely releases.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical qualification.
  • Proven success as a Software Engineering Manager or in an equivalent leadership role.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge with software, including Microsoft .Net framework, on-premises software solutions, and desktop applications.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in mentorship, leadership, and growth of a successful software Development team.
  • Experience in software release processes and management of software release cycles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoyment in working collaboratively with others.
  • Proactive with excellent time management skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of the aged care sector in Australia, and/or previous healthcare experience.
  • Experience with SaaS solutions.
  • ·Understanding of hosting infrastructure and system administration.
