Thales AMS (Airspace Mobility Solutions) is providing leading edge airspace control and security solutions for the commercial and defence sectors, as well as digital solutions for Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation.

About the role:

The Software Integration Engineer will be involved in the development of integration components of ATM software, defining and implementing automated integration tests (non-regression, deployment smoke-tests, etc.) and to robotize low added value tasks to configure, build or deploy the subsystem software in accordance of the CICD strategy, roadmap and tools. This role will interface closely with the team ATM software integrators and DevOps as well as with the rest of the OneSky software engineer’s community (>100 devs)

This position will have strong elements of both Software Integration and DevOps.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing definition documents to align with projects targets relating to costs, deadlines and quality, and participating in the product integration and verification phases
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of program Software Integration activities, and delivering Software Integration services for systems and/or sub-systems of products
  • Defining and leading testing activities (regression, interface, simulation scenarios and test tools)
  • Product installation, configuration, data management, performance monitoring and systems administration
  • Leading the integration & block testing of incremental software releases for products and/or projects, in accordance with the schedule
  • Providing expert technical support and the setup of environments to developers, testers and end users, and providing support to the Software Integration team, development and validation teams during the implementation phase of the project
  • Identifying risks and proposing effective solutions
  • Authoring documentation and documentation updates

Ideally you will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science or IT
  • Experience with CI/CD methodologies, workflows, configuration management, and some of the corresponding tools (bitbucket or Jenkins, gitlab or ci)
  • Practical experience with Configuration Management tools such as (Ansible or Puppet)
  • Scripting and automating administration tasks like Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy
  • Extensive experience of using UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • Solid understanding of Software Integration and testing processes including regression, interface, simulation scenarios and test tools
