About the OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting new opportunity for a
Software Quality Engineer to join our Red Ochre and Autonomy Sensors (ROAS) program, location flexible, reporting to the ROAS Quality Manager.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.As the
Software Quality Engineer you will be responsible for assuring that software life cycle processes comply with approved software safety critical plans and standards.
Key responsibilities include:- Development of Software Quality Assurance plan in accordance with specific regulations
- Assure software plans & standards are compliant with specific regulations and provide approval of software plans & standards
- Assure that software life cycle processes specified in the software plans are followed
- Assure that the transition criteria for software life cycle processes are satisfied
- Conduct the software conformity review
- Conduct all Software Quality Assurance reviews
- Participate in stage of involvement audits with certification authority
- Detect, record, evaluate, track, and resolve deviations from the software plans and provide approval of deviations where appropriately justified
- Document and maintain Software Quality Assurance records
About YOU- Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in Software Development/Computer Science/Coding and Testing/Verification Engineering
- Understanding of safety critical software development for real-time embedded systems
- Experience working with safety critical software standards, ideally with DO-178C
- Good understanding of software requirements, architecture, coding, testing, and analysis paradigms
- Experience working in a Quality Assurance role providing process assurance and conducting process audits
